Thrive to the Rescue

After a weekend full of bites and booze at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, I knew I was going to feel a little rough. That’s what mixing Rosés, Champagnes, Whiskey, and Reds usually does to me. Before bed, I usually pop a few Advils, drink some water, and hope for the best, but luckily this time I had some Thrive+® After-Alcohol Aid™ on hand to battle the hangover.

It’s a two-part pre-hangover remedy. First, there’s the Oral Rehydration Solution that tastes like a powdered lemon-line Gatorade. You mix that in a tall glass of water and guzzle it down before your head hits the pillow. Unlike the sports drinks you drown yourself in to rehydrate after a night out, this solution uses a Sodium Glucose Co-Transport System, which takes advantage of osmosis to offer major hydration following alcohol consumption. They boast that in clinical studies, researchers found that the formula’s ratio of ingredients is more effective at rehydrating than even IV bag therapy (P.S. I’ve always wanted to try one of those).

The second part is the pill popping, which reduces short-term alcohol withdrawal, replaces lost vitamins, and provides your liver with what it needs to break down alcohol and its toxic by-products. All you need to do is take two to four capsules before bed. When I grabbed these little blue pills, I instantly thought of The Matrix. “After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill—the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.” I definitely wanted to wake up and believe that I wasn’t hungover!
