I’m all about embracing the weekend, so I’m popping some bubbly for the occasion. The weather has been strangely cooler these summer (almost fall) nights, so I take every chance I get to enjoy a glass of wine outside. Today, I’m sipping on a glass of Riondo Prosecco.
Established in 2008, Riondo is located in the Veneto region of Italy and has over 14,800 acres of vineyards that are managed by more than 2,400 associated farmers. Named after the nearby Mount Riondo, Riondo Prosecco is dedicated to the craft of producing Charmot Method DOC sparkling wines. The Riondo portfolio offers DOC Proseccos that embrace the spirit of Italy.
Prosecco is an Italian white wine that is produced in the Veneto region of northeast Italy and made using the Glera grape varietal. Proseccos are made using at least 85% of the Glera grape, and can include small amounts of other varietals local to the Italian region. This grape varietal, along with the terroir of the Veneto region, creates a tropical, fruit-forward taste profile for which Veneto Prosecco is known.
Riondo Prosecco is pale yellow with the slightest hint of green. The aroma is clean and refreshing with flowers. It has a ton of bubbles, that quickly fade away. It has notes of yellow apple, pear, and a nice balance of acidity and sweetness. It’s clean and light. It’s funny enough available with a cork or screw cap (hand for those nights you can’t finish a bottle by yourself). You can find this Veneto Prosecco at Total Wine for $9.99. I paired it with some lounging on the grass. Cheers!
