Unique NYC Activities: Collective Retreats on Governors Island

Just a short 8-minute ferry ride from lower Manhattan, Collective Retreats on Governors Island is full of unique NYC activities. It’s an experience that should not be missed!

Collective Retreats on Governors Island

Composed and situated to capture the best views of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline, Collective Retreats’ freestanding accommodations are a modern village. At their center is their Great Lawn and Sunset Terrace viewing areas, where reflection, activity and entertainment happen all day long.

Not only could you get an amazing “glamping” experience (who says you can’t camp in the city) , but there’s also dining with a stunning view of the city skyline (including the Statue of Liberty). They have five-star tent and tiny home accommodations (complete with plush beds with high thread count linens), but I just enjoyed a sunset visit to their farm-to-table restaurant, Three Peaks.

With a bottle of Clelia Romano @CollidiLapio Fiano di Avellino, we dined on heirloom melon and prosciutto with d’auvergne, fig, and chervil; charred octopus with fennel, frisee, and squid ink risotto; and cacio e pepe. We ended the night with s’mores over an open fire. Such a relaxed and unique experience!

Pro tip—If you want to spend the whole day on Governors Island and really enjoy some one-of-a-kind NYC activities, spend some time at QC Spa before you head over to Collective Retreats.
