Roses and Rosé

If you know me, you know I love being outdoors. Paddle boarding, hiking, boating, biking – all good in my book. So while I’m at the house, I love to tend to my garden. I have a vegetable garden in my backyard – full of herbs, tomatoes, greens, and more – and a flower garden in the front, where I often find caterpillars and butterflies.

When I garden, I occasionally like having a glass of wine – a refreshing perk to deal with the Miami heat. Today, I enjoyed a glass (or two) of 2016 Gérard Bertrand Cote des Roses. I was attracted to this bottle because it’s BEAUTIFUL. It is a slim shape and has a rose etched into the bottom of the bottle, which looks like glass art.

The wine has a pink hue and the slightest sweet aroma – barely detectable. It has the right amount of fruitiness and acidity, a great balance of flavors. It’s refreshing and slightly lingers on the palate. I believe it was just $11 at Costco (yay!), but I’ve seen it at Publix for $17 (boo!). I’ll definitely draaannkkkk it again 😉 4/5.
