When picking a Sauvignon Blanc, I usually go for ones from New Zealand – they’re always clean, refreshing, and flavorful – and this Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc definitely hits all the right notes.
It’s from Marlborough, which is recognized as one of the great wine-growing regions of the world. The grapes were selected from a wide variety of their Wairau and Awatere vineyards to ensure a complex and harmonious flavour profile. The grapes were harvested at night, when the temperatures are cool, to preserve the vibrant fruit flavours and pressed immediately with minimal skin contact into stainless steel tanks. Fermentations were carried out at cool temperatures to retain the fresh fruit flavours. Each vineyard block was kept separate throughout the various stages of the winemaking process, allowing different parcels to blend into the Nobilo signature style that’s consistent year-on-year.
Upon pouring the glass, you can see that the wine is pale yellow in color with clarity. It’s fresh, crisp, and clean with flavors of tropical fruits and minerality. It has a well-balanced acidity and a nice finish. It’s usually about $12 at Publix – such a great value, making it one of my go-tos. 4/5.
I enjoyed it outdoors with the cutest flamingo tablecloth and glasses (both from Homegoods). A perfect setting for a perfectly good drink.
