The Collection is Basic

I was strolling through Target the other day (really just wandering through the wine aisle) and was instantly attracted like a moth to the light by the Rosé section. It’s that time of year (as if I really need an excuse), so I wanted to see what was new on the shelves.

I decided on The Collection Rosé 2017, which I later discovered was a Target new label. The label art that actually attracted me was created by the company’s in-house design team (how dare they catch me like that), which was inspired by the process of making wine.

The Collection’s wine is sourced from the Delicato Family Vineyards, a family-owned winery that’s been wine making since 1935 with sustainable and environmentally sensitive farming practices.

The wine was pale pink with a hint of salmon color. It had a fresh nose with hints of berry. It tasted crisp with strawberries, raspberries, and watermelon flavor. At $9.99 a bottle, it’s an easy poolside sipper. Nothing complex, kinda basic, but does the job. I paired it with a summer romper to match the mood.
