The Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year is around the corner (hooray, Year of the Rabbit!) and I’m already munching on dumplings. We always love grabbing dim sum from #KonChauChinese in Westchester and had a craving this past week (this one is for you, @curlycurlycurls).

Looking for libations? Here’s what I like to pair with my Chinese favorites:
🍷Champagne (or Cava, Prosecco, etc.) is food-friendly all around and is even better with anything fried.
🍷Riesling (dry or off dry) will pair great with a spicy or sweet-sour dish.
🍷Unoaked Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio/Gris is also delish with fresh and light dishes like shrimp dumplings or shumai. Also works for dishes like chow mein and fried rice.
🍷A bold rosé is great for certain pork dishes and Sichuan-style spices. Yes way rosé!
🍷Beaujolais works for dumplings with pork or beef, or a duck dish (god, how I love Gamay). You can also grab a Pinot Noir for a similar effect.
Which are some of your favorite Chinese food pairings? Drop them in the comments.
